Great Start!!!
Serena gets back from boarding school... no one knows why she left, no one knows why she returned...
Gossip Girl instantly reports her arrival at her website and everybody gets to know about it:
First there is Dan, or lonely boy as Gossip Girl mentions, who seems to have a huge crush on her since... well since ever... Finally he gets the opportunity of his lifetime: a date with Serena... If you ask me, I love the way it happens because is so cute and natural! Just like it was meant to be...
And then there is Blair, Serena's best friend ever, who didn't get the chance to say goodbye to her because not even her knew about her sudden get away... We can see that her feeling are all mixed up... She's hurt because she didn't say goodbye, she's angry because everybody always liked her best, but deep inside she's happy... at least until she realises that her boyfriend, Nate, got too happy with her arrival. And apparently everybody knows about his feelings for Serena.
Finally, there is Jenny, who wants to be "it" no matter the cost.
In this first episode we get to meet the characters and the story behind Serena's get away and return. If you don't want to know... stop reading now and watch the episode!
So Serena and Nate had one hot encounter at a wedding. I guess after betraying her best friend like that, she realised she needed to change, to become someone else, to get away... So she did. One year late she came back, with sad eyes but a new personality. She looked at Dan for the first time and they spent a great time together... but then Dan got a message from Jenny... Chuck was on top of her... and Dan punched him right in the eye.
The episode ends with Serena facing the new person she is, Dan facing the girl of his dreams by his side, Jenny facing the consequences of her entrance in this new world, Blair and Nate facing the fact that Serena is back for better or for worse.
If you ask me, this is a great pilot. I was bitten by the Gossip Girl Bug in the first 10 minutes :)
